Crooks Peak National trust is the perfect spot to view the local area.
There are many paths that lead up to the peak, but the most popular is the King's Wood car park.
The peak itself offers lovely views and is a steady walk for most walkers.
There isn't any wheelchair access at all and some of the terrain can be tricky especially after rainfall as the flow of water off the hill is quite ferocious.
Dogs, cyclists and walkers welcome.
Absolutely stunning! Lovely walk too! But can be quite windy at the top!
Crook Peak is on the West Mendip Way - and is the highlight of day 1 - well signposted and good views (on a good and can not guarantee it on bad days!!) Going to the top is optional but it is there and back
Lovely walk, stunning views, walked from kings wood car park (can get filled up quickly). Went back through Compton Bishop and Cross-don't bother stay on top for the views(perhaps I lost a way a bit by i would rather go back same way next time). By the actual sign crook peak on Webbington road there is only space for 3 cars.
This was a fun walk. I found parking on the Webbington road near Compton Bishop. for free too. Directly oppisite the entrance on the south side of the hill. Theres a National Trust sign here with details of the hill. At this entrance there …
I live in New Zealand now. When I was a small boy my family used to live in Winscombe. I remember with fondness walking up Crooks Peak with my father. He would take a gas primus with us and a can of baked beans. We would heat it up and eat it together. Good memories.
Beautiful refreshing walk with fabulous scenery across the Somerset levels and Severn estuary. Lovely ageold dry stone walling to be admired.
Fantastic views over Somerset & beyond. Windy at times but definitely worth it
Lovely walk a bit steep walk on some areas but overall a nice day out for me and the kids. And view was amazing.
